I have acted as a Research Associate for the Center for Psychophysiology and Education since 2009. Since 2014 I am a Lecturer in “Neuropsychology and Language Functions” in the Faculty of Primary Education. My research interests include various aspects of neuropsychology and cognitive and behavioural neuroscience. I have also developed an active interest in the contributions of neuroscience in the educational process, in other words in the field of “neuroeducation”. I have worked in neuropsychopharmacology, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the neural and behavioral effects of antidepressant drug action on autobiographical memory. My DPhil work focuses on the sex differences in laterality for praxis and language, using behavioural and brain imaging techniques (functional transcranial Doppler ultrasound, fTCD), while my post-doctoral research extends my work on brain laterality in children with special education needs (students with dyslexia, hearing impaired students and students with low or high IQ) and healthy adults. I am further interested in research methodology with a special focus on meta-analysis. I has published papers in journals such as the Psychological Bulletin, NeuroImage and Neuropsychologia and I have presented my work in a number of conferences in Greece and abroad.
